Candle Care Instructions

To ensure the best experience and longevity of your Ethnology candles, please follow these care instructions:

  1. First Burn: Allow the candle to burn until the entire top layer of wax has melted, typically 2-3 hours. This prevents tunneling and ensures even burning.
  2. Trim the Wick: Before each use, trim the wick to approximately 1/4 inch (6mm). This promotes even burning and reduces smoke.
  3. Burn Time: Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. This prevents overheating and extends the life of your candle.
  4. Never Leave Unattended: Always extinguish your candle before leaving the room or going to sleep.
  5. Keep Away from Drafts: Burn candles away from fans, air conditioners, open windows, or heavily trafficked areas to prevent uneven burning and excessive smoking.
  6. Use Candle Accessories: Place your candle on a heat-resistant surface or candle holder.
  7. Store Properly: When not in use, close the lid and store your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve the fragrance and prevent discoloration.
  8. Extinguish Safely: Use a candle snuffer or gently blow out the flame. Avoid using water, which can cause the hot wax to splatter.
  9. Discontinue Use: Stop using the candle when only 1/2 inch (12mm) of wax remains at the bottom of the container.

By following these guidelines, you'll enjoy the full benefits of your Ethnology candles while ensuring safety and optimal performance.
